Individual sessions are for you alone and can be face to face or online
In an individual session you may choose to;
*use arts processes or talking only
*create an arts piece then reflect on and process it when completed.
*work with a theme or issue that you bring to the session.
*learn and practice mindfulness skills utilising traditional techniques and/or arts processes
*use a 'parts' based approach.
You decide on the amount of time you spend talking and making art.
You may choose to spend the whole session creating or alternatively spend the whole time talking.
While you are working on your piece I may sit with you and either create a piece in response to what you have shared or simply watch and witness you working.
My artistic response will use the words and images you have expressed and may be offered to you as a reminder or reflection of the insights you have gained.
The art that is created may just be a few words, a painting, a sculpture, movement/dance, song, object or a picture.
Whatever mode of expression you choose becomes a vehicle for you to find your own meaning and understand its relevance to your life.
With children I use a play based approach offering art materials, games, story telling, nature, drama, toys, sand trays and talking depending on the child's interest.
With adults and adolescents I offer arts materials, writing, storytelling, sand work, dance/movement, voice/songwriting, improvisation, nature, mindfulness techniques and/or talking.
